The campaign pitch

It is the year 5600 AD and you are almost 6,000 light-years from Earth, in a cluster of stars in the Orion Spur of the Milky Way Galaxy known as the Distant Fringe. You are descended from human beings who fled our solar system in the middle of the 22nd century in order to escape the clutches of malevolent alien invaders. Millennia passed in the discovery and settling of new worlds and in the rise and collapse of interstellar civilizations. Your species has now occupied this region of space for more than 3,000 years. In that time, the original Terran cultures and languages have changed beyond recognition, but one thing remains the same: you are homo sapiens, curious and restless. Indeed, you possess these qualities to a greater degree than most, for you are a rare breed — one who makes a living amongst the stars, never staying on one world for too long. You are a Traveller.

WHAT IS THIS GAME?

This game marries the open-source Cepheus Engine ruleset and the unique Distant Fringe setting for classic Traveller in the service of an open-table sci-fi sandbox campaign.

YOUR CHARACTERS IN THE WORLD

You play adventurers seeking their fortunes in turbulent times. You have a starship, crewmates, and bills to pay.  To paraphrase a popular sci-fi show, "Fuel your ship, find a job, keep flying." Your characters will undertake dangerous missions for mysterious patrons, explore uncharted space, unearth strange artifacts from precursor alien civilizations, and engage in interstellar diplomacy and intrigue. Rewards include fancy gear, ship upgrades, valuable connections, and riveting yarns to relate.

SAFETY TOOLS

If this campaign were a movie it would probably be rated PG-13. Other tools include:

  • Lines  and veils

  • X-card

  • Check-ins
