While you're away on your rescue mission in the mines of Pel Avena (Far Home 1528), Captain Jarumi pours herself a cup of coffee and sits down to do the ship's accounts. After a solid hour of data entry, verification, and no small bit of cussing — she’s never been fond of bookkeeping tasks — she leans back in her chair and allows herself a contented smile. It seems the ship's finally solidly in the black, thanks in no small part to your recent efforts.

She glances over at the stacked cryopods containing her niece and nephew, just visible through the open door of her sleeping quarters. Revealing their existence to you had been difficult but she realizes now that she’s feeling a measure of relief at having shared this burden with people she feels she can trust. For the first time since she left the Firstworlds Navy to find Idowu and Rajani, she has a sense of that special bond of fellowship that comes from being part of a ship’s crew. Her destiny is now intertwined with yours.

She looks at her chronometer. “I wonder how they’re doing down there?”
